hi Jack,
	Bob's right, if the power supply hasn't been "solid stated" yet, it 
should be done, properly.  Beside just replacing the rectifier tubes 
with SS devices, the 5 v filament windings must be disconnected so they 
don't have HV on them.  The usual mode of failure is for the 5v windings 
to short either to the core (ground), or to the adjacent winding.  It's 
an easy job, if it hasn't been done you should do it.  Take a look at

to see just what's done.
	I'm glad you found your SB generator problem, that's a tough area to 
troubleshoot.
