[Hallicrafters] Best RX?

I've had several SX-100's over the years. I have a Mk1a version now that
I'll hang on too as I used one years ago, (1972) as my first Stn receiver.
The mechanical stability is very bad. Any slight "knock" on the operating
table and your off frequency. Other than that, I think they are fine....Good
for general coverage SW and the band spread on the ham bands is fine. As
with any old piece of gear, get the manual. Alignment procedure is fairly
straight forward. Watch out for units that don't have the heavy paper cover
over the S meter terminals. There is B+ on those terminals and I've been
bitten a few times!
