Agreed. On the first SX-73 I restored, the tuning knob was actually frozen.
I never expected it to eventually be as smooth as it came out. Impressive
to say the least; as nice a band scanner as any SP-600. One trick I've used
on the slipping SP-600's is to clean off the grooved drive wheel as well as
the edge of the big disk with lacquer thinner on a "Q-Tip" to remove any
hint of lubrication.
