[Hallicrafters] SX-73 VS: SP-600-JX Tuning comparison

The sp-600 uses a friction drive which is a grooved disk that engages the rim of the tuning dial.
There is a spring on the grooved disk and if that spring looses tension, tuning can slip.

The Sx-73 is geared. I liked the sx-73 tuning feel a bit better, but it is more work to re-condition.
With gears it is possible to break them by forcing this. On a sp-600 the drive will just slide if something is stuck.
