Hi Joe: The problem that you describe is usually the 50.75 kc I.F.
alignment. The MARK-1 defines the alignment to be 50.50 kc and the MARK-2,
is 50.75 kc. If the 50.75 kc I.F. is aligned to 50.50 kc the S-Meter is
driven up in CW/SSB mode by BFO feedback. Kindest regards Jim K9AXN
