Is it possible that the knob was removed at some point and not reinstalled with the shaft in the "12 o'clock position, ie: properly set so that the RIT is at zero when the knob is reinstalled?.

Subject: [Hallicrafters] SR-150 Question
Tell me if my understanding of the RIT control is as follows:
With the RIT pot knob at 12 o'clock, I should be able to turn the RIT function
n and off without changing the receive frequency. Then I should have equal
eceive frequency adjustment on either side of the 12 o'clock position.
My SR-150 RIT function is not centered. My RIT pot knob has to be at about 9
'clock to have the receive frequency remain the same with the RIT on or off.
