[Hallicrafters] SX-101 Question

Unless you are planning on leaving power applied to your SX-101A all the
time, I wouldn't worry about the longevity of the 12BY7A.

I don't leave power applied to any BA gear unless I'm in the house.   It
only takes 30 Min or so for the 101A to stabilized from a cold start, maybe
a bit longer on the higher bands.
