[Hallicrafters] SX-42 Pedestal?

They have a following due to a misconception of being sensitive. What you are really receiving at any given dial setting is images, birdies and other signals 10KC's away. Makes it seem like it's hot.

 Having said that, I find the sx-28 quite an attractive beast -

 Don't know about its performance as I haven't fired it up.  Of course,

 Age, I suspect it has its limitations.  However, I collect these beast
 because they represent
 (to me) a certain engineering achievement for their time. Noting my
 collection though, I seemed
