[Hallicrafters] SX-42 Pedestal?

 A representation of engineering achievment for their time. Well said Bill, you've hit it on the head and congratulations on the SX-42 with that ultra rare tilting pedestal. If you had to describe the vintage amateur radio hobby with one picture it would have to be a picture of an SX-28.

Fortunately the sx-42 I am buying does have what I believe is the correct
edestal.

aving said that, I find the sx-28 quite an attractive beast - cosmetically.
on't know about its performance as I haven't fired it up.  Of course,
onsidering it's
ge, I suspect it has its limitations.  However, I collect these beast
ecause they represent
to me) a certain engineering achievement for their time. Noting my
ollection though, I seemed 
o have deviated from that in regards to some of my radio :).
