[Hallicrafters] What is this?

The SX-9 is not a bad receiver for 1936 Todd. I use a second prodution run
version in the minimalist station mostly on CW along with a few others. It
is superior in stability and general use than any other Halli single RF and
xtal filter set that I have here up thru a SX-110. Transmitters are various
early 30's designs.

The HQ-120X is far superior and thet gets cycled in with the 129X,140X, and
RBG along with the Viking I.

I wouldnt own a RME-69!

That's what I thought when I looked at it, though it looked a bit
smaller than the SX-9. The one I had did not have the Hallicrafters
logo on the top right corner and someone had removed the dial pilot
and plugged the hole with something that looked like varnish. Wasn't a
terribly exciting set and it ended up going down the road back in the
early 80s along with an RME-69 and HQ-120X. Have since found another
69 but have zero desire to replace the SX-9.

The S-4 should at least have some value as a scarce/odd set. Hopefully
someone will get it who enjoys the Halli line and bring it back to
life. Doesn't look like it would take much, though finding a speaker
could be tough.
