The inspections are simple but through. Plus if you have an EAA advisor
the only inspection comes when you are getting ready to fly it.
Documentation OTOH must be through and show you did the majority of the
work.
However I know of one inspector who insisted on static wicks on a
fiberglass airplane. My Beech doesn't even have them, although it may
get them soon. I had to reset the entire stack twice due to
precipitation static. Center became a bit concerned when I had to shut
all the power off and the transponder disappeared from RADAR. The NDB
was the first to go, followed by the VOR and RNAV with the DME following
that and the coms almost immediately after.
When I finish the G-III I don't want to get any where near those kinds
of storms. The G-III and future planes won't even have an NDB.
