Its even dumber than either you pr I portray!

If it is my aircraft, or if it is your, and either one of us installs 
the CHT gauge, it is perfectly fine - PROVIDED we did it under 
supervision.  DUH!

Better yet - install a 2 mtr antenna system to connect a handheld to!  
We could get folks into a war between the Avionics. A&P, PLUS the Inspector!

Now the use of the handheld is entirely up to the PIC!

It gets wild and woolly.
