Hi,
This is kind of an off-Hallicrafters-topic question: To do the "adjust maintain, or internally repair (of) FCC licensed radiotelephone tramsmitters in the aviation" ... I think the FCC states one needs a General Radiotelephone Operator License (PG). The FAA guy at the local FSDO says one needs a First Class Radiotelegraph Operator's Certificate. Well the First Class certificate requires 25 wpm code. I'm maybe at 10 wpm and too slow and old to get to 25 wpm. I could (I think) pass the PG with a little study.
Can anyone clarify what IS the FCC / FAA requirement to do the maintenance and anual certification for an NDB? We are almost ready to get the NDB going at the Deer Park, Washington airport. Some adjustments, paperwork, and flight test left. Thanks.
