What would you miss?..about 150# of dead weight.... I think you'll find
the 117 is as good a performer...maybe better than the 115 for a lot
less money. The same for the HT-44 versus the HT-32B. The only short
comings I know of for the HT-44 is they used a pair of 6DQ5 sweep tubes
in the final instead of 6146s. Sweep tubes are becoming increasingly
more difficult to find. The 44 and 117 are much smaller and lighter
than their SX115 and HT32B counterparts and about the same physical size
as the Collins S-line. Operation wise I prefer the 44 and 117, but for
ego building, show and tell, it'd be the S-Line.I've owned and run the
entire HT-32 series as well as all of the SX101s and the HT-33B (which I
still have) and the HT-37. I have also owned the S-Line, KWM-2, and KWS1
with a 75A4. I liked the performance of the KWS-1/75A4 over the S-line
or KWM-2, but it was big and gave off quite a bit of heat. Although
being in the basement at the time that heat was kinda handy.
