Mike,
It becomes easy to think "glass tube encased crystal" when you associate
with Hallicrafters!
Every SX-101 I've ever seen has one in it!
They indeed look strange!
Easy enough to understand the brain lapse - Lord only knows how many
I've had! ( LOL! )
