Some things I have learned from past experience:
Try to use a low gloss or near flat when it was used originally. High gloss will not look right
Try to use an antique white for the nomenclature to achieve faux patina or the appropriate "aged" look.
Bright refrigerator white is commonly picked to make them look new again but bright white won't look right.
It is more difficult to get sharp definition over a wrinkled or textured finish. Howard Mills has perfected a technique for this.
The market for this work is small and there is just not enough potential for profit to make it a viable business venture beyond a hobby purely for the enjoyment of it.
