He got out of his depth pretty fast with those guys. When you're
arguing opinion against fact, it isn't gonna go well. Several of the
guys in that thread are engineers who have played with this stuff for
decades, including a few who do it for different federal agencies in a
security setting. Against their experience, the Litz wire angle and
old ARRL promotion weren't going to cut it.

That was Steve WB3HUZ a.k.a. the HUZman. He runs the AM Window site
and had a board there before turning that part over to AMfone. Think
you met him last spring when you met Johnny Novice. I didn't see Jay
this time, he might've gotten cornered by the snow in CT.
We got some serious mileage out of your standing next to 'JJ while
asking us if we'd seen him at the 'fest!

I could've sold that HT-20 ten times over, and for more $ than John
let it go for initially. Certainly a nifty box, but IMO a bit too big
to still require an outboard VFO. If I gotta schlep a 100 lb box
across the radio room, it better not require another trip elsewhere to
get the tuner! Then again, if you're replacing the HT-9 with it, iit's
a huge step forward.
Just don't drop either one. :D
