[Hallicrafters] SX28A information needed

I have been trying to find a dial lock that is used on the SX28A main tuning knob but to no avail.  So I am trying to duplicate the lock.  Can sometime take the time to tell how the dial lock works.  Is it something like a caliper

that grasps the dial plate on both sides or does it just press against the underside or topside of the dial plate?

Any information would be helpful.  Thanks.
