Hi Greg,
Thanks for the pictures of your restored SX-28A - very nice looking. A friend recently bought a SX-28A at the local hamfest for me (he knew I have a couple of Hallicrafters) for $75 - a good buy. It looked good at first glance with even the "A" on the front panel. However a previous owner made many, many changes, even adding a tube underneath. Fortunately although he moved wires from one area to another he didn't cut any to a shorter length. Also he did not remove any of the cut terminal wrappings which are a pain to remove.
Fortunately I have another SX-28A which I worked on a couple of years ago and I have it up-side-down next to the 'new' receiver and am comparing wire-by-wire and I go. It would be much more time consuming if I had to use the schematic.
Which all brings me to a question - would you happen to have any "spare" SX-28 speaker and antenna binding posts? I need not only those but the bakelite pads under the posts.
Thanks again for the pictures.
73, Skip W7WGM
