[Hallicrafters] S-36A receiver

Hi,  I just obtained a S-36A receiver and am trying to get it  
operational.  I have a S-36A technical manual but my receiver seems  
to have a few (factory) extra components.  There appears to be an  
additional 956 acorn tube just aft of V1 with a box behind it and it  
sits above SW1A.  Also coming out the back of the RF section is a  
spark-plug looking device which points out the back of the chassis  
and sits above V10.  It kind of looks like it could be an antenna  
input except there is also a UHF socket on a phenolic plate instead  
of the antenna terminal strip.  If anyone has a schematic which shows  
the what looks like an additional RF stage and "spark-plug" item I  
would appreciate it.  I can send a picture if that would help on  
identification.  Thanks.
