Yes Duane........CANADA issued a Nickel (5 Cents) during the 2nd World
War years (1943-45 I believe...Maybe longer), known as the V Nickel or
Victory Nickel. This Nickel had a Large V on the Back and was issued in
2 different Metals one of which was called TOMBAC which was a Brass
Alloy, and the other was a Chrome type metal used to save NICKEL for
War use.
Without looking it up somewhere I believe the message that was written
around the Back edge of the coin in MORSE CODE was.....
"We win when we fight willingly"....or something similar to that.
