Hi Murray:
Remove every screw on the radio and Deoxit the hole. Deoxit every ground
point at the star washer and gently tap the star washer to reset the
connection. "Every ground connection". You probably will have a new radio.
One other common problem is the point gap on the two small yellow 10 cent
relays has universally shrunk as a result of phenolic warp. Adjust them or I
have a part number for a new replacement --- I'll forward it later, have to
dig it out. The relay must be 750 to 800 ohms or the diode switches for het
osc and balanced mixer will malfunction. Kindest regards Jim K9AXN
