Please park your chores tomorrow and join us for the Saturday July 25th HHI
(Halligan's Hallicrafters International) 40 meter Net. With apologies to my
friend Ben Franklin, a penny saved was a penny earned! Maybe it was earned,
maybe it was stolen! What matters is not where you got it, but what you do
with it now! Put another way for the lymrick challenged: Work put off being
done today, will still be waiting for you tomorrow! He who procrastinates
gets more time to play, which Psychologists tell us will improve both our
life span and our quality of life. So by playing radio on a Saturday, you
will live longer to do all of that work you put off! Buy some Sheep, let
them eat the darn grass! Free fertilizer too!

Now that I think about it, I wonder if a penny even existed when Ben was
debating with Secretary Of The Treasury to be, Alexander Hamilton about the
Great Seal, the all seeing eyeball and that pyramid? But that is a
Numismatic tale for another time -

The Saturday 40 meter pre-Net commences at 12:30 PM EST/EDT, or 1630 UTC. So
go check your digital replica of the Grecian sun dial you got free for
signing up for that satellite video service to be sure you still have
battery power in reserve for those days that the Sun don't shine!

The HHI Net proper begins at 1:00 PM EST/EDT, or 1700 UTC. If the sun dial
is DOA, try checking the time with WWV in Boulder, Colorado. Speaking of
radio time signals, where the heck did CHU in Canada move the forty meter
signal to after they vacated 7.335 MHZ?

The frequency will be 7.280 MHZ lsb +/- for key clicks, mike splatter and
some shatter the ear wax into micron sized fragments audio from the relays
doing the Limbo Rock courtesy of a well meaning vintage radio devotee who's
latest aquisition has a serious case of relay rattle! Hey! You never know
what a piece of vintage gear is going to do next, so life is never dull! Nor
are all Coms Q5 either!

Join us tomorrow and let's give the grass a rest while we make these wonders
that still go glow in the dark light up our lives. And maybe a few of our
neighbors new electronic wonder gadgets too! Like putting their garage door
opener into an endless loop! Causing the invisible pet fence to transmit
canine sounds humans can not hear but invites all the dogs in a quarter mile
area over for a snack and then zaps them when their nose discovers that
fence! Or causes all new digital watches to run backwards! In any event,
join us and let's go where the glow leads us.
