Carl and All -

I have the timeline written by Alan Douglas in 2007. However, was there a
Howard Radio Company and a Howard Company? Or just one or the other?

Halligan acquired his license when he purchased the bankrupt Echophone
Company. They had a license with RCA, but were $42,000 behind in paying
them! They were also deep into debt with parts suppliers, such as Ohmite,
Standard Transformer etc.

After Halligan bought Echophone he continued to produce their receiver for
nearly two years under the Echophone name before changing the name to
Hallicrafters. He also manufactured the SkyRider series and produced some
items for the bankrupt Silver Marshall Company.

The timeline written by Alan Douglas refers to "The Howard Company", except
for two references to the company as "The Howard Radio Company". Confusing?
Absolutely!
