Van,
I am interested. I am working on a GK-500B and would like to see your
handy work.
Thanks, Collin

Maybe that's because you did an "amateurish" job. You can't tell the
difference between the original panel work and what I did. If you are
interested will send you a picture of the finished project. VanB

I've been reading up on using the transparency sheets to make silkscreen
masters.
It occurred to me that the sheets themselves could be glued to front
panels, as Glen has done. That saves the whole process of making a
silk screen.
Then I thought, suppose I printed the mirror image, that would put the
printing on the bottom and the sheet would be the "clear coat".
While this might be too glossy for a purist, there's a fellow who is
silk screening EF Johnson radios and he's clear coating his work to
protect it.
I've seen an example and while it's non-standard, it's "better than
new", in my opinion. The radio glows.
What I can't figure out is how to make a real textured panel. I could
use a photo editor to fill the panel with a simulated texture but it
would be a picture of texture.
There's another technology that I've heard about. Sign shops can make
vinyl overlays. I haven't looked into this but I know a guy who does
highly detailed dress ups for race cars and motorcycles. There's a
fellow on the Heath list who makes HW-16 front panel overlays using that
technology. He says it's not perfect but the images look pretty good.

My sx111 mk 1 went on the frits a couple of weeks ago and I have since tried
to get it back.
In the alignment procedure in the first paragraph it says to adjust the top
slug on T102 & T103 . When I look at the pictorial on page 15 of the Mark 1
manual I do see only T201 & T202. Which one is correct?
Thanks
Jack

Hi everyone,
I just got an SX-28 which needs a touch up on the alignment, I have two
questions (for now anyway):
1. I assume the "200 mmf dummy antenna" used for the BCB alignment is a 200
pf cap? Will a mica do or is there a certain type needed?
2, for the 455 Kc alignment it says to hook hot lead of signal generator to
6SA7 mixer terminal #8, this is V3, correct?
thanks,
Bob

Hi Guys,
I just recently acquired a Precision E-200-C Signal generator. While the RF
section works great the modulation is not working and I suspect it is the
phase shift network integrated component(chip). While the schematic provides
excellent info about every part it does not include info on the contents of
the phase shift network.
Now I know the phase shift network if 180 deg and it contains a series of
caps and resistors. If I knew the values of the internal parts I could
recreate it. Has anyone come across some info on how to build a new phase
shift network for this Generator? Any info at all would be most helpful.
Thanks,
Rob
