Too bad for us they didn't ask you to do the  write-up Carl, the only way we 
would have known the truth! Even bigger than that  is now I don't understand 
why National didn't survive!

Truth in Advertising regulations werent in effect  in 1954 and QST would 
print anything if paid enough. Reviews were written by  manufacturers ad 
companies. Look at antenna gain claims in QST of that  era.

Without an independent lab evaluation all the hype, blather, and  drivel 
means as much as a politicians promise.

Im going to bed, maybe  some others on here can convince you to just stop 
and drop  this.
