[Hallicrafters] SX-88 Value Controversy Continues

Bill,

I've read all the responses on this post and I offer the following. I had an
SX-88 myself. I didn't pay that much for it and it was one of those with the
warped front panel bezel. I did get a replacement for that. I used the
receiver for some time with my Viking Desk on 160 of all places. I have many
other receivers including Collins, National, Hammarlund and some military.
In my opinion, the -88 was and ok receiver, but not stellar. I did like the
selectivity but overall I much prefer my HQ170A on AM and my NC183 sounds
every bit as good as the -88. I sold mine several years ago for much more
than I paid for it and I have to admit I don't miss it. I think quite
frankly that the SX-88s value is as a collector.

My opinion only of course.

73,

Ed, KØBKA
