[Hallicrafters] SX-88 Value Controversy

Well said Harry!

On a related note,  I took my family down to your area (Townsend) for a 
few days after Christmas and I picked up the Jimmy Buffet book, "A Salty 
Piece of Land" to read while down there.  At the start of the second 
chapter one of the characters states that he chose the location for his 
home where it was free of trees and power lines so "he could receive a 
clear signal from the heavens" and then went on to talk about listening 
to the Hallicrafters S-40B  that his father had bought the day he was 
discharged from the Navy.  He spends several pages describing why the 
Hallicrafters is special.  Just another example of how a certain radio 
has a special meaning and magic to an individual.

The S-40B does fade from the story but the rest of the book is still OK.
