I hereby nominate TC Daily for Sainthood.

The SX-62 and -42 are among the most challenging radios to get really right.  The front ends of them are packed in there so as to make replacement of bypass caps a real challenge.  And often a small coupling cap has shorted and taken out a resistor or two.

One of the most experienced and determinted radio restorers I know finally gave up on one SX-42 because one of the high frequency bands was rather deaf.  There seemed to be no cure for it.  (May have been a shorted rf coil, who knows!)

Thanks for that tip.  The trimmers have gotten a lot of talk on the R-390 list because they stick and then break when you try to adjust them.
