If 100 is the open position of the bandspread dial that is the normal way to
adjust the tracking.
On all the other Halicrafters receivers I know of 100 is the high end of the
dial.

I have an idea now of why my SX-28 is not tracking properly. However, I
wanted to run it by you folks before I got my own magic screwdriver out.
The manual says that all alignments are done with the bandspread at 100. It
looks like the prior owner here tried to align it with the bandspread at 0..
Am I correct that the RF alignments should be done and tracking measured
with the bandspread dial at 100? If so, what's the best way to do the
adjustments to get things right?
