Nice to hear your memories, Spike. I was with them from 1971... almost to the bitter end (former wife WAS). The best unknown hero of B-A was a man named Ellis Eldrid - he ran the "ham shack" in those later years. Ellis never had a ticket, but he sure did know the gear. Always a straight-up guy, and you always got the BEST deal he could give you (and then some). I still have the D-104 I got with my SWAN 500C (he gave me the mike), and use it with the Viking Valiant & SX-62A (AM station).
I'm actually composing the "history" of BA, as I remember it; also based on stories from the few others I knew while I was there. Any of you out there, who have B-A stories you'd like to relate, please send them to me. After all, we grew up in the grandest times of radio - what with ALLIED, LAFAYETTE, Burstein-Applebee, HENRY, and so many others who have faded from the pages.
