I think in the case of C&H that the owner simply decided to retire, at 
least that's what he
said when I asked why he was closing. The prices for old test equipment 
there were silly,
but at least they were negotiable :-)

The MarVac has been replaced by DuVac (?), which also sells components, 
but not nearly
in such a good selection.
