Yeah, that's true....I had been going to the Mar-Vac location in Los Angeles
(Culver City) for many years....probably 10 years and CH Electronics too.
That location closed in early 2007.
Most of the stuff they had was surplus from other defunct resellers of off
shore components such as Jim-Pac and Proparts.
I finally got tired of going there to sift through the crap parts and coming
home with make-do parts or NOS electrolytics.
Now I get the good stuff from Mouser or Digi-Key in 2 days.

You migrate to where the money can be made. "We" lost our technological
edge years ago.
