Depends upon what kind of parts you need and  whether you are restoring 
function or appearance with regard to originality or  without regard to 
originality. There is no one correct answer to this and  attempting to discuss the 
subject often results in a heated a stand-off with  sharp disagreement.  

Some introspect into the situation at hand might point to the best  direction 
to pursue depending upon your own personal take on the subject. For  example; 
if you have an SX-100 with a burned screen or plate dropping  resistor and 
leaky coupling caps almost no one would disagree if you  ordered modern 
replacements from Mouser to get it up and running again to resume  band cruising with 
an old American classic.
 
But what if you had a Zenith Stratosphere easily worth over $50,000 needing  
those same repairs? Do you automatically call and order orange drops  or 
miniature yellow plastic axial poly's from China without thinking about it  first?
