Try turning the gain down on your sig. generator. Sounds like you are in
saturation.

Has anyone run into problems following the SX-117 service manual 
alignment procedures?  I don't seem to get any changes adjusting T5, 
T6, T7 or, T8 when using step 1  in the manual when trying to align the 
IF at 50.75 KC.  I've checked the tubes and voltages - any suggestions?
