Hello all,
I am back on this list after awhile of being away. As the manager of
the Ensor Park and Museum in Olathe Kansas my newest need is to ask
for help in the restoration primarily in cosmetics, of a number of
Hallicrafters sets that we have been donated. Marshall Ensor
1904~1970, W9BSP, only relyed on the brand for his communications for
many years. The result is that we have solicited and received a
number of them to add to the couple that are displayed at the
museum. We have an SX-24, SX-28 and S-36 to spiff up for display by
this spring. They will compliment an SX-16, SX-111, S-40 and S-40B.
My basement seems to be the staging area for the task.

Currently my need is to know if there is a source for remade dial
discs for main and bandspread for our SX-24, that I assume were
originally celluloid, and a safe way to make the viewing windows for
each more clear. Also our signal strength meter is in bad shape due
to a radial split brass bezel and housing with a multitude of
parallel splits around its circumference. A good replacement would
find interest here. We have some interesting trades available. I may
have other needs when getting to the other two hallies.

If you never were familiar with Mr Ensor and his home that is now a
National Historic Site, check into our website; <www.w9bsp-w9ua.org>
Our MEMO Club of ham operators and local Santa Fe Trails Amateur
Radio Club help with the effort to run the web site and care for the
museum by being guides for the visiting public.

We operate our club station [W9BSP, W9UA] within the original little
radio room in the 110 year old farm house. It is very fun duty.

Feel free to reply to list or to larryw0hxs at kc.rr.com.
