[Hallicrafters] shipping by freight

Duane said it all with: "good packing".
I recently shipped a Seneca (60+ #) and a HQ-110 with no problems reported.
The key is taking the time and effort to pack the units.
I use 3/4" styrofoam sheets bought from Home Depot and cut-to-fit with a
razor knife.
Two or three layers of foam and double boxed.
Quality is like buying oats: "If you want first quality oats the price can
be high. If you want oats that have been run through the horse, they will be
cheaper".

Hank could not be more correct when he says that "good packing" is the key!
Yes it takes more time and effort to pack a heavier object then it does a
lighter one, but a lot of damage can be avoided if one takes the time to
properly pack what is being shipped.
Unfortunately, in too many situations, either the shipper is not willing to
put the time and effort into proper packing or the buyer is unwilling to pay
the extra dollars more to properly pack his purchase. In those cases, you
roll the dice and hope that snake eyes do not come up on the freeway!
