[Hallicrafters] SX-99 and QF-1

 Hi guys,
 
 I just brought a SX-99 and a Heathkit QF-1 Q multiplier back to life and I have a couple of questions.
 The QF-1 manual says to connect the unit to either the plate side of the input IF transformer or the plate connection of the mixer tube at the socket.
 That would be pin 8 on V-3 6SG7, 1st IF AMP or pin 3 on V-2 6SA7, Converter if I am not mistaken. Is this correct?
 Also, there is a article about changing the QF-1 broad position into a variable bandpass in the Hints and Kinks section from a 1959 issue of QST. Does anyone know which month it was?
