Here's another trick you can try if the secondary of your original 
transformer is still OK.   Convert the triode section of the 6R7 into a resistance 
coupled amplifier and connect the output coupling cap (.05 or so) to either side of 
the   transformer secondary.   Works FB.   From my 42 handbook try   47K 
plate   and 1600 ohm cathode resistors.
