[Hallicrafters] More S-40 questions

    Has any one done a comprehensive comparison of the different versions of 
the S-40?

So far, I have found models S-40, S-40A and B and one reference to a early 
and late version. I have schematics for the 40A that show either a 80 or a 
5Y3.

Some have the large IF cans and some have the smaller, 3/4" size.

The schematic that appears to match my S-40A is the Sam's folder 483-10.
The BAMA (DJVU) schematic for the S-40A shows a 5Y3 and a 5-pin speaker 
connector.

Since I like to collect all the info I can on my boatanchors, I would like 
opinions/comments. . . .
