[Hallicrafters] Powder Coating

I haven't used the Harbor Freight system, but have experience with the
Craftsman setup.

To effectively use this system (or any Powder Coat), you need a
dedicated oven. Used (junk) electric ranges are ideal.
The 'powder' is just that. A plastic type powder that is
electro-statically attached to the metal host. Sorry, it does NOT work
on non-metal items. For that you need a vacuum deposition chamber).

Anyway, the powder melts at 400 degrees F and is VERY durable. I have
seen 2 pieces of tubing that were beat against each other. The tubing
deformed, but the Powder Coat was fine.

A lot of the high-end street rods being built today, have the ENTIRE
chassis Powder Coated. Will look good almost forever.

I don't know how well this works, but Harbor Freight has a sale going
right now
on a powder coating system for $59.99 in the catalog that I got
yesterday. They
also are selling powder coat paint for $4.99 per 16 ounce container in
black,
white, yellow, and red. From the photo in the catalog the system
consists of a
paint gun, power supply, hose, and foot pedal for controlling the paint
flow.

The part number of the system is 94244 and the paint part numbers are
as
follows:

Black 93306
White 93307
Yellow 93308
Red 93309

Supposedly the system works with any "standard" powder coating paint.
