I'm pretty sure that Hali used non-standard knobs of various kinds.
I have an SX-100 with matching but generic knobs on the notch freq and
depth. These knobs are not exactly what you describe as they have no
numbers and they resemble the other knobs on the radio.
By resemble, I mean that they have a center "bright", grooves, a skirt,
and are black.
I have seen at least one SX-100 on eBay with the same matching generic
knobs that are on mine. I have also seen other owners asking about
non-standard but matching knobs on the notch controls.
The discussions usual drift to a consensus that "Hali never used knobs
like that."
I'm not so certain. If fact, given the number of times that this
question has come up, I'm almost certain that there must have been a run
of dozens of SX-100's with knobs like this.
Let's call these, the extra-valuable, rare units with special notch knobs.
While on this subject of SX-100 mysteries.
My SX-100 has a removable, three wire, power cord. In fact, it is
interchangeable with the three wire cord used on the Heathkit SB-303.
All the SX-100's that I've seen on eBay, that show the back, have
hard-wired power cords.
Anyone know what the story is here?
