Hi Joe,
    Your SX-28A serial number should start with HA-.  S/Ns for the 
number you give are:
Jan. 1946 to June 1946 are HA-29500 to HA-55500.  The last encountered 
SX-28A s/n is HA-53445.  Take a look at the site for Western Radio 
Museum in Virginia City, NV.
