What I always do (without exception):
Go to www.manualman.com and get a good high quality reproduction S-20R
manual. $13.75 makes it entirely impractical to try to get the information you
need any other way. The Hallicrafters S-20R is still in abundant supply and
cheap. Having a donor unit on hand makes restoration work a lot easier and is
the only source for otherwise unavailable parts. As has generally been my
experience no two receivers usually have the same parts needing replacement and
it is really convenient to be able to rob parts from the donor. Any time you
are taking on a restoration project it is always convenient to have two of
them.

You could even BUY a digitally remastered manual.
