The comments:

Q: Please tell me you removed the little knurled screws from the
binding posts on the rear before you junked the chassis!!!!! Did you
keep any other screws or misc 'stuff'?? Apr-29-08
A: I removed 3 of the Knurled screws from the rear speaker terminals,
that is all that was on the back. Those are included. Other than a few
screws that went to the front panel, that is all I kept.
Q: do you still have any of the antenna posts? I am missing one.
thanks Apr-29-08
A: No, The frame went into the trash as I had no room to store it. The
underside had a lot of water damage, so this radio was doomed from the
start, so I wanted to at least try and scrap some of it out. This is
part of a ham radio estate that was in the garage for many years. I hope
to list more equipment in the next few weeks..

From the pictures and comments, this is a cultural collision between
our kind, restorers, builders, and USER/OPERATORS, and well, yuppie,
fru-fru, collectors.

They don't understand that while the ideal might be a "correct", "mint",
working radio, in a glass display case, that all the varieties of
vintage radio, as found in the wild have value, even a hand polished,
better-than, restoration with modern parts inside.

Water damage? Doomed? I saw transformers and tuning capacitors that
someone might kill for. The stained sheet metal looked pretty darn good
too.

These people watch too much Antiques Roadshow and get "funny" ideas
about value and preservation.

The sad part is that he saved the dial lamps and tubes for sale, as if
those were especially valuable. And pitched out the interior sheet
metal and the IF transformers.

de ah6gi/4 Has SX-100 with outboard digital display and is restoring a
DX-60 for use with a J-38.
