The 300 mile Zone Of Death on Saturdays is playing heck with the 40 meter
Net! Since about 85% of you who participate in this Net live within 300 air
miles of my Flint, Michigan QTH, you do not hear me on Saturday. However, I
really am there! Sometimes talking to myself, sometimes to a Ham in states I
do not normally hear on 40 meters at 1700 UTC on 7.280 MHZ lsb.
So keep on showing up and calling, as one of these Saturdays the propagation
will be present and we may all be forced to grab a hand key and use the CW
mode, since we will all be left speechless!
Those of you in distant states who normally would not be heard on 7.280 MHZ
lsb at 1:00 PM EST/EDT, 1700 UTC, may very well be 5/9 Q5 presently, so warm
up those rigs that still go glow in the dark and give W8DBF a shout on
Saturday!
We are also now operating on Wednesday evenings on 20 meters for the Global
Glow Roundtable on 14.315 MHZ usb from 6:30 - 8:00 PM EST/EDT, 2230 - 0000
UTC. So join us! When, or if, 40 meters ever opens again on Wednesday
evenings, the Global Glow Roundtable will return to operating on 7.280 MHZ
lsb (or an alternate frequency) from 6:00 - 7:00 PM EST/EDT and on 14.315
MHZ usb from 7:00 - 8:00+ PM EST/EDT again.
I hope to hear some of you tomorrow, Saturday September 29th, so be there!
Whether you are in my adjacent states of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois or
Wisconsin or in Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, Maine or South Carolina,
with the propagation changing about every hour, anything is possible!
Thank you for your patience and hear you either Saturday or Sunday!
