Not true!

Assuming 1 amp as the starting current.  Then
increasing the current by 5% gives a current draw of
1.05 amps.  Squaring 1.05 (1.05 X 1.05) gives 1.1025. 
If the resistance remains the same then the power
consumption becomes 10.25% greater.

To get a 25% increase in power the current has to
increase by the square root of 1.25 which is 1.118 or
11.8%.
