It would seem that someone has not remembered ALL the formulae!

E=I x R is only ONE piece - BUT important!  The R is fixed!

Also consider P = E x I - this "seems" to be what you are thinking - 
while "saying" Ohms Law.

The "higher" voltage is NOT a money maker for the power company - it IS 
a money saver!  By increasing the voltage on the uninsulated aerial 
conductors, they can carry more POWER without investing in the 
INFRASTRUCTURE - I.E., the transmission lines.
