[Hallicrafters] SX-62 dial glass.

Hi all,

Thanks for the replies. Radio Daze seems to be out of
stock on this item, but what's the difference between
the 62 & 62A dial glass? Did the locations change. I
know that you can date globes this way. I noticed
there's a "PALESTINE" among others on here, but after
1948 it became "ISRAEL", do later ones reflect this?
And where the hell is "PEIPING" (just above 3.4).
"RHODESIA" and "ARABIA" are a few others that have
changed. "ACCRA" has slipped in to present day
obscurity (I wonder if the British broadcast out of
there at then time). Anyway...

If the paint was water based and is dry, then a
non-water based spray should not be a problem. Though
the only real way to know would be to sacrifice a dial
glass and maybe blow $40.00 in the process.

The radio works and is in pretty good shape for a an
almost 60 year old beast.

Somebody at one point replace the band selector knob
with one from a SX-43 or similar, I had an S-38B I use
for parts so I switched out the knob.

I haven't had this much fun looking at radio dial in
years.
