Be VERY careful here!

Some of the metal Halli acey-deucey sets have one side
of the power line hooked to the chassis -- some S-38s,
as Charlie points out; and the S-22/S-22R. If you
plug in the 2-wire cord wrong, you will be Filled with
gu-LOW-ry of the Lord.

You might also blow some fuses in test gear if you
don't use an isolation transformer.

Fair Radio Sales has some small transformers with a
115v primary and a 105 volt secondary good for 1/2
amp, or about 50 watts. That should run an S-77
pretty nicely and it is of a size that will easily fit
inside the case. I forget the cost but it isn't much.
Check www.fairradio.com and look under Products, then
Transformers.

By the way, most of those thousands of safely-operated
acey-deucey radios were in insulated plastic cases
with insulated plastic knobs.
